The Eastern Salisbury Fire Department responded with the Fountain Hill Fire Department around noon Dec. 25, 2014 to an accident with multiple injuries at Delaware Avenue and Bishop Thorpe Street.

Rescue crews arrived at the scene to reports of a passenger trapped in one of the vehicles.

Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and prepared the rescue tools. Firefighters used two sets of hydraulic power tools to free the injured person within minutes. Crews then assisted in removing the passenger from the car and clearing debris.

Delaware Avenue was closed by fire police until police had the cars towed.
