Jan. 8

Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy's Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. Kelley Gold, from the Hackerman-Patz House at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, will speak about "Your Home Away From Home" - affordable family lodging for patients and guests of any LVHN facility. The Lower Macungie AARP Chapter #4150 will meet noon in the community room of the Lower Macungie Library Building, 3450 Brookside Road. The meeting will feature entertainment by singer Nathan Scott and a menu including pizza with coffee or tea. There is a charge for lunch. Jefferson Drama Club Coach and Vera Bradley bags bingo at Jefferson Elementary School, 520 Elm St., Emmaus. Doors open noon; games begin 1 p.m. Lunch and snacks are available for purchase. The Lehigh County TRIAD/Project Lifesaver meeting 3 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 Elm Street, Allentown. The meetings are free and there are no monthly or yearly dues. This month's speaker, back by request will be Sgt. Clyde Hoch, USMC. Hoch is an award winning author and a mentor with the Veterans' Mentor Program sponsored by District Attorney James Martin. Lehigh Valley Beekeepers meeting 7 p.m. at the Lehigh County Ag Center, 4184 Dorney Park Road, Allentown.
