Emmaus linebacker Andy Davidson was named to the Pennsylvania Football Writers Class AAAA All-State team.

Davidson, who also played running back, led the Hornets with 94 tackles, 15 of which were for a loss. He also forced three fumbles, recovered two, had an interception and blocked three kicks. Davidson may have been more important to Emmaus offensively, however, as he rushed for 2,042 yards and 26 touchdowns.

Several other Eastern Pennsylvania Conference teams had players make the all-state team as Whitehall, Parkland and Easton each had two selections.

For the Zephyrs, Penn State bound running back Saquon Barkley led the charge, rushing for 1,851 yards and 24 touchdowns to become Whitehall's all-time leading rusher.

Buskirk, a linebacker that has committed to Lehigh, registered a team-high 64 tackles, recovered a fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown.

For Parkland, defensive back Jarey Elder and linebacker Preston Saylor were selected. Elder also helped on the offensive side of the ball at wide-out, collecting 60 receptions for 722 yards and eight touchdowns. Saylor led the team with 105 tackles and 15 tackles for loss.

Easton running back Shane Simpson and towering offensive lineman Mike Fleming were also named to the squad. Simpson was named as an offensive athlete, as he ran for a school-record 2,124 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also caught 32 receptions for 334 yards and five TD's. Fleming, who stands at 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, earned honors at center on the all-state squad.

Three players from the Colonial League also made the Class AA team, as Northwestern's Cam Richardson and Taylor Breininger joined Palmerton's Tre Nelson (LB) on the squad.

Richardson capped a historic career at Northwestern by earning honors at wide receiver, where he had 47 receptions for 758 yards and 14 touchdowns, adding 477 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Richarson finished his Tiger career by breaking every single-season and career receiving record at the school.

Breininger made the team as a defensive athlete. The linebacker registered a team-high 15 tackles for loss, adding two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and six interceptions.

Breininger also had five defensive touchdowns, three of which were pick sixes. The do-it-all player also scored on a punt and kick returns, as well as registering six receiving touchdowns and seven rushing scores.

Bethlehem Catholic's trio of offensive playmakers highlight the list of this year's Class AAA players from the Lehigh Valley area.

In total, 13 players from District 11 were named to team across all four classifications, but the Golden Hawks led all teams with the most honorees by having seniors Michael McDaniel (RB) and Freddie Simmons (WR) named to the Class AAA team, as well as junior quarterback Julian Spigner.

Becahi won its second straight District 11 3A championship this past season and head coach Joe Henrich knows how great of an honor it is to be selected.

"It's awesome and a credit to them as individuals and to us as a team for how far we've come," Henrich said. "We are so proud to have three kids represented. To have three in one year is remarkable."

McDaniel ran for 1,968 rushing yards and 34 total touchdowns, putting him second in Becahi single-season history totals. Simmons caught 58 receptions for 812 yards and 14 touchdowns. He finished with 20 total touchdowns for the season. Spigner completed 143 of 221 passes for 2,298 yards and 28 touchdowns, adding 390 rushing yards and four scores.
