Whitehall-Coplay School District news

Students will be dismissed early Tuesday, Dec. 23, to start the holiday break. Elementary grades and morning kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.

The afternoon kindergarten students will be dismissed approximately 10 minutes later than their normal time. The kindergarteners will ride the elementary buses with grades 1 through 5.

There is no afternoon kindergarten Tuesday, Dec. 23.

The middle school will dismiss at 10:45 a.m. Winter break will run from Dec. 24 through Jan. 2. Schools will be back in session Monday, Jan. 5.

Middle school yearbook orders will be accepted Monday, Jan. 5, through Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Students will be bringing home more information on how to purchase this school year's yearbook.

Gockley PTSA membership winners were recently announced.

Mrs. Franz's kindergarten class and Mrs. Kocher's first-grade class both had the highest number of families join the PTSA.

Each winning classroom received a milk and cookies party.

In the event of a two-hour delay, the following modified kindergarten schedule will apply:

Morning kindergarten classes will start 10:50 a.m. and end at 12:40 p.m. The afternoon kindergarten classes start 1:25 p.m. and end at 3:15 p.m.

For the modified kindergarten schedule, the bus for afternoon children will arrive approximately 50 to 60 minutes later than the regular dismissal time.

Due to weather and traffic conditions, the school's transportation office cannot predict the times for the different bus stops. Please do not call the school offices.

The school district has an anonymous tip line for anyone who believes a student might endanger another person or themselves. If anyone is aware of a possible situation, call the voice mail number at 610-435-4638 and leave a message.
