Community Hope and Hope for Veterans, a nonprofit organization is asking area residents, organizations and corporations to help brighten the holidays for homeless veterans and veteran families it serves.
They have recently placed or are in the process of finding affordable housing for hundreds of homeless veteran households in Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern and Central New Jersey.
These veterans and their family members are in need of warm clothing, food and basic household necessities this holiday season and there is no money for toys for their young children.
A holiday drive underway is to collect new or gently worn winter coats; new toys and gift cards the families can use for food, warm clothing or household supplies.
Collections may be delivered 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday to the Allentown office, 895 Hamilton Blvd.
For directions, call 973 273-7712.
Donations for the Veterans Holiday Drive may also be made through the agency's Development Office, Community Hope, 199 Pomeroy Road, Parsippany, N.J., 07054.
Checks should be payable to Community Hope and noted for "SSVF Veterans Holiday Drive."
For further information, call 973-270-1103.
