It might be worth your transportation budget to drive to Walnutport to an Exxon gas station along Route 145 where one gallon of unleaded regular gasoline was, as of Dec. 14, about $2.69, one of the lowest, but apparently not the lowest, prices in the Lehigh Valley.
In the Lehigh Valley, you can save anywhere from 14 cents to 25 cents per gallon by planning your work, errands and holiday shopping routes.
Even so, Lehigh Valley prices at the pump are still higher than the national average.
According to the Automobile Association of America, the national average for one gallon of unleaded regular gasoline is $2.54, as of Dec. 15.
The price for one gallon of regular unleaded dipped below $2.50 to $2.33 per gallon at US Fuel, Clinton, N.J.
According to gasbuddy.com, as of Dec. 14, the lowest price in the Lehigh Valley for one gallon of unleaded regular at non-membership gas stations was $2.59 at Blue Star, Lehigh and Walnut Drive, Northampton; B to B Market, Third and Grape streets, Whitehall, and US Petroleum, Bath Pike and Gateway Drive, Bethlehem.
Prices were as low as $2.69 at US Gas N Go, Airport Road and American Parkway, Allentown, and at the Gulf, 25th and Northampton streets, Easton.
The price for unleaded regular was about $2.76, as of Dec. 15, at Daisy Hill, East Emmaus Avenue and East Susquehanna Street, Salisbury Township.

The national average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gas peaked seven months ago at $3.72.
