Good Cause: St. Luke's raises funds for Adopt-a-School Initiative

The generous abound across the Lehigh Valley as a spirited fall wrapped up with new and seasoned charity events.

"Dinner by Starlight," always a smash social hit sponsored by St. Luke's University Hospital - Allentown Campus this year to benefit the Adopt-a-School Initiative, brought out 450 of the Lehigh Valley's finest and most generous guests Nov. 6 to the Holiday Inn Conference Center, Fogelsville.

Emcees were the fabulous and always stylish duo of Eve Tannery and Ashley Russo. Tannery, morning and noon anchor, Channel 69 WFMZ, and Russo, producer and co-founder of The Peak TV, kept the energy high as honorees ranged from 15-year-old Jordan Smith, recognized for her work with the Miracle League, Food Bank collection and the Cetronia Ambulance Corps; to Peg, Dick and Jeff Fegley of Fegley Brew Works, receiving accolades for their company's culture of philanthropy, and Bob Agentis, founder of the Judith Adele Agentis Charitable Foundation, who received a Shining Star for providing meals and hospitality to St. Luke's Hospice House families and staff.

Receiving the evening's top nod as Honorary Star was Atty. Sy Traub of Allentown, recognized for his philanthropic works over the years.

J.B. Reilly, Congressman Charlie Dent (R-15th), Robert Black, William Erdman, William Berger, Luke Cunningham, Adriana DeFrancisco-Vidal, Bruce Donaghy, Henry Michael Fries, Janet Gross, Buddy Lesvos, Vincent Lucente, Jennifer Mann, Frank Nacci, Gerald Pytlewski, Charles Saunders, Anthony Scarcia, Timothy Schoenborn, Melinda Stumpf, John Yurconic, Jr., Jane and Richard Brooks, Sharon Schierer, Leo DeLong, and Michelle Gilletto were among the movers and shakers on hand.

Art for a cause: "Art and Style for a Cause" debuted Nov. 9 at the Bethlehem House Contemporary Art Gallery along Main Street, Bethlehem.The event benefitted the Judith Adele Agentis Charitable Foundation. Guests ogled the works on hand, from one-of-a-kind furnishings to original works of art, sculpture, photography and jewelry.

A Stella & Dot trunk show of fashion accessories presented by stylist Jana Stabile, a native of Bethlehem and now of San Francisco, attracted fashion lovers with proceeds benefiting the JAACF, an organization Ms. Stabile and her family experienced earlier this year, while holding vigil for a family member at St. Luke's Hospice House.

Guests included Bob Agentis, founder of the JAACF; Barbara Stabile, Jana Stabile, Judi Stabile Weisberg, Matt Wolf, Valerie Peters, Jennifer Morris, Kate Hughes and Ward Van Haute.

"We are honored to be holding a benefit for the JAACF as our family was greatly comforted with the thoughtful delivery of a delicious lunch to Hospice House as we gathered for the last days of our loved one," said Judi Stabile Weisberg.

Best friend: Musselman Jewelers of Bethlehem rolled out the red carpet, spirited hot cocoa, and red velvet cupcakes for a "Diamond Giveaway Kickoff" Nov. 22 to benefit the Coco Foundation, an Allentown nonprofit created to benefit pediatric cancer research.

Among the many revelers were Elisa Molchany, Breanne Ross, Katie Wilvert, Revé Anderko, Tom Anderko, Carol Ritter and Laurel Mikovits.
