With the Christmas season right around the corner, the musical ensembles at Emmaus High School are preparing for their winter performances.
The orchestra presented its show Nov. 21. The program featured Christmas songs such as "O Holy Night" and "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy."
The chorus concert will be held Dec. 9 and will feature all of the different ensembles, including select choir and both a cappella groups. Lastly, do not forget to come out to the band concert Dec. 12. The show will feature the symphonic band as well as the jazz band and percussion ensemble.
Parents and students are reminded Keystone Exam administration will begin after Thanksgiving break. The testing begins Dec. 3 and runs through Dec. 17. Parents should have received a letter in the mail containing specific details in regard to their child's testing.
Applications are now available for the high school scholars program at Lehigh University for the second semester. The program allows a select group of Emmaus seniors to take a free college course at Lehigh University. Interested students should contact the counseling office for details and an application.
The Academic Team recently improved its record to 4-1-0 and made it into the EPC play-offs.
Congratulations are in order for Emmaus alumni Katrina Guido. As editor-in-chief of Emmaus High School's student run newspaper in 2013-2014, Guido wrote an article on the controversy regarding school board member Julian Stolz's relationship with a high school student.
The Stinger staff traveled to a National School Press Association conference in Washington, D.C. Nov. 7 to 9, where Guido's story earned third place out of the thousands of news stories submitted to the NSPA national competition.
