Residents in a home in the 1700 block of East Emmaus Avenue reported an electrical problem 7 p.m. Nov. 29. The residents reported walls on the first and second floor were hot to the touch. Eastern Salisbury firefighters soon discovered the chimney was the source of the heat but it was not normal. Crews were then ordered to the basement to check the heating source and found the gas boiler flue was glowing red. Firefighters made sure the fire didn't spread to the walls.
