Student honored

at law school

Widener Law campus, Harrisburg, recently had its annual student awards ceremony.

The event honors students for academic and leadership achievements.

Those honored included Katie Riggleman-Thomas of Kutztown.

She received an outstanding student service award, given annually to graduating students who have been actively involved in the Widener community and who have been of outstanding service to the school.

Riggleman-Thomas graduated May 18. She plans to take the Pennsylvania bar exam and will work as an associate at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin in Harrisburg.

She is the daughter of Bryan Thomas and Marty Riggleman of Kutztown.

Jeremy Estremera of Allentown is a senior member of the sprint football team for the 2014 season at Mansfield University, Mansfield.

The Mountaineers opened the season by hosting the University of Pennsylvania under the lights of Karl Van Norman Field Sept. 20 as part of the Light Up Mansfield Again 2014 festivities.

Mansfield hosts just its third home football game under the lights after inventing night football in 1892.

The CSFL, founded in 1934, is celebrating its 80th season and is comprised, in addition to Mansfield, of Army, Cornell, Franklin Pierce, Navy, Pennsylvania, Post and Princeton.

to dean's list

Kristen Heiner of Fogelsville was named to the dean's list at the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, R.I., for the fall 2013 and spring 2014 dean's lists.

To be included on the dean's list, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality grade-point average.
