Applebee's retaurants honor veterans

Every Veterans Day, Applebee's restaurants invite veterans and active duty military to have a meal on the house. This is the restaurant chain's way of saying thank you for their service.

According to General Manager Mike Rader at the Cedar Crest Boulevard Applebee's, more than 685 veterans and active duty personnel were served Nov. 11.

Applebee's has been participating in this program for seven years.

As veterans and active duty personnel arrived, they were asked to sign a "Wall of Honor," which was then suspended inside the restaurant.

Volunteers also distributed coffee, bracelets, pins and cards of thanks to the veterans.
