Students earn

dean's list status

Lydia M.Barski and Rebecca A. Matta, both of Allentown, and Suzanne Y. Zhou, of Orefield, were named to the dean's list at Boston University, Boston, Mass., for the spring 2014 semester.

Students must attain a 3.5 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale), or be in the top 30 percent of their class, and have a full course load .

The following Kutztown University students were inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society:

Valley student

receives honors

Lauren Hannaford, of Breinigsville, a senior recreation and leisure administration major at York College of Pennsylvania, earned an award during the college's annual student recognition ceremony.

Hannaford received the Sylvia C. Newcombe Award, given for outstanding contributions to the recreation program at York College through class or student society involvement.

Jennifer Dobias of Schnecksville, who majored in communications, has graduated summa cum laude from Boston College, Boston, Mass., with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
