STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q: What grade are you in?
A: I am currently in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.
Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?
A: My favorite subjects are biology, anatomy and genetics. I like learning anything related to health sciences because I find it so interesting to learn about what our bodies are made of.
Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A: I have been on the principal's honor roll and honor roll at Emmaus. I was voted by my teammates to be a captain of the high school soccer team.
Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A: I have been a member of the Emmaus High School varsity soccer team for four years. I played on the high school varsity basketball team as a freshman and sophomore as well. I work part time as a manager in training at a local pizza shop and I am a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. I enjoy being with my friends and family.
Q: What is your next goal after high school?
A: I plan to go to college and receive my nursing or physician assistant degree.
Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A: My biggest challenge throughout high school has been time management. I have to balance my school work as well as my athletics and my job. Balancing those three items was difficult at first but through good time management skills, I have been able to be successful in all three areas.
Q: What do you want to be remembered for?
A: I want to be remembered as a caring, respectful and hard-working person who can make people smile.
Q: Who is in your family?
A: My family includes my mother and father, Melissa and John. I have a 17-year-old brother, John Jr. and two yellow Labrador retrievers, Maizie and Lily.
Q: Do you have someone you look up to?
A: I look up to many people, but I would say the person I look up to the most is my mother. She is a strong, independent woman who has been there for me and supported me through anything. If I grow up to be like my mother, I think I'll be very successful.
Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?
A: Be yourself. Don't let other things or people affect the way you want to be. It's your life, work hard and be respectful. Do what you love and in the end, you will be successful. Always have fun in what you're doing.
