A new entry category debuts in the Kalmbach Memorial Park's annual gingerbread house competition and display. The 2014 event is scheduled Dec. 13.

The new entry category for 2014 is "Christmas Around the World." Since families around the globe celebrate Christmas in their own unique style, this theme allows an opportunity to show how another culture celebrates the Christmas holiday.

Other categories are "kids only," "traditional gingerbread house," a category for unusual creations and "the professional/winner's circle" category for those trained or awarded prizes in past gingerbread competitions.

The deadline to submit paper entry forms is Nov. 30. Gingerbread creations must be completed and delivered to Kalmbach Memorial Park Dec. 7.
