Alburtis, Bethlehem women chosen for annual Athenas
Francee Fuller, marketing manager of the multi-discipline engineering firm Barry Isett & Associates, and Eileen Budd, vice president for sales and marketing at the Budd Agency, received 2014 Athena honors from the Women's Business Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce Oct. 28 at Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University.
The Athena Award was presented to Fuller in recognition of excellence in business, devoting time and energy in community service and actively assisting women in realizing their full potential.
The Young Athena award presented to Budd, honors emerging leaders who excel in their chosen field, devote time and energy to their community and serve as a role model for young men and women.
Fuller is serving her fourth term on the East Penn School Board, is a past president and is on the Joint Operating Committee of Lehigh Career & Technical Institute and is on the board of the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.
Fuller, a past president of the East Penn Chamber of Commerce where she is on the board, is a founding member and past president of the Commercial Real Estate Women of the Lehigh Valley and Friends of the Emmaus Public Library.
She lives in Alburtis with her husband, Scott Stoneback.
Budd has received three New Jersey Association of Realtors Circle of Excellence Sales Awards, and while working full time at the Budd Agency established Wine-Know, an education and event planning business.
While president of the Phillipsburg Area Chamber of Commerce she facilitated its merger with the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber. Budd, who recently concluded a term on the Chamber's Board of Governor's Executive Committee, is a board member of the Coco Foundation which supports pediatric cancer patients.
Honored as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 2013 Women of the Year she was named one of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's "Top 20 under 40" in 2010 and was among the Lehigh Valley Business Journals "Top 40 under 40" in 2013.
A resident of Bethlehem, she and her husband, Matt Clark, are the parents of 11-week-old twin girls.
The annual event has honored more than 50 distinguished women since the program's local inception in 1985.
The Lehigh Valley Athena event is a local celebration held under the guidelines of Athena International, a non-profit organization that seeks to support, develop and honor women leaders through programs administered in partnership with host organizations from local communities. The programs aim to inspire women to reach their full potential and strive to create balance in leadership worldwide.
