Due to a staff professional development training day, Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will be closed Nov. 14.
The library's two book drop locations, at the library and at the North Whitehall Township Building, will remain open for book deposits.
Community members will have access to place holds online and access the library's digital catalog at parklandlibrary.org.
The library will reopen 10 a.m. Nov. 15.
Family Storytime at the library for children 18 months to 3 years will be 10:30-11 a.m. Nov. 19 and 20.
Younger and older siblings may attend. An adult must stay with each child.
There will be stories, songs and games for the entire family.
Preschool Storytimes for children ages 3 to 5 years will be offered from 1-1:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20.
Parents must stay in the library but do not have to attend storytime with the children. There will be stories, songs, games and crafts.
Drop-in Storytime for families with children of all ages will be offered 10:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 14 and 21.
There will be stories, songs, and games for the whole family to share. No registration is required.
Spend an afternoon with the Knitting Circle 1:30-4 p.m. Nov. 20 swapping knitting tips and tricks.
Just bring your knitting materials and enthusiasm. The Knitting Circle is for knitters of all ages and skill levels.
The library's book group for adults "Book Quest" will meet 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 19 to discuss "Laughing Boy" by Oliver LaFarge. New members are always welcome.
Celebrate author Kathryn Craft's debut of her novel, "The Art of Falling," at her book signing 7-8 p.m. Nov. 18 in the library's event room. Books will be available to purchase.
Join the library's conversation group led by Italian native speaker Rita 7-8:15 p.m. Nov. 20.
The library will close at 5 p.m. Nov. 26 through Thanksgiving.
Registration is needed to attend family and preschool storytime and Craft's book signing.
