Vehicle theft

Reported by Adis, Inc., of Emmaus, unknown actors took a white 1998 Ford Econoline van while it was parked in the 2900 block of Aronimink Place, Lower Macungie Township, between midnight and 7 a.m. Oct. 11. The van contained numerous tools with a total value of $1,000. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

DUI

Kevin James McCloskey, 56, of Allentown, was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a two-vehicle traffic accident along southbound Cedar Crest Boulevard at Lower Macungie Road Oct. 7. Charges were filed through District Court 31-2-03.

Criminal mischief

Reported by Brookside Dental, 979 Brookside Road, Wescosville, an unknown actor threw rocks at a security camera and struck and shattered a window near the camera, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Hit and run

Jason Kauffman, 33, of Emmaus, faces charges related to a hit and run crash after he allegedly fled a one-vehicle accident 10:30 p.m. Oct. 9. Kauffman allegedly lost control of his vehicle while attempting to negotiate a left curve along Vera Cruz Road at Geho Road, Upper Milford Township. The vehicle allegedly struck a tree and rolled onto its roof and Kauffman allegedly fled the accident on foot. Charges were filed through District Court 31-3-03.

Retail theft

Kristy Lenn Howells, 33, of Wescosville, faces charges of retail theft after she allegedly took multiple items valued at $204.20 from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 1 p.m. Oct. 14. Charges are pending.

Stephanie Christina Ameche, 42, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft after she allegedly went through a self-checkout line without scanning items valued at $92.90 at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:15 p.m. Oct. 21. Charges were filed through District Court 31-3-02.

A 17-year-old female, of Emmaus, was charged with retail theft after she allegedly paid for one item before bagging 23 other items worth $97.77 and leaving Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, without paying for the items, 4:40 p.m. Oct. 21. Charges were filed through District Court 31-3-02.

Theft

Reported in the 7900 block of Salem Bible Church Road, Upper Milford Township, unknown actors stole a Little Wonder Optimax self-propelled leaf blower between Oct. 8 and 22. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Theft from motor vehicle

Reported in the 1400 block of Mohr Circle, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors took loose change from two vehicles parked in a driveway between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 15. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Harassment

A 16-year-old girl from Breinigsville sustained scratches and scrapes and a 34-year-old woman from Brooklyn, N.Y., sustained bruising to her lips and mouth after a large group fight following a baby shower at the Wescosville Fire Company and Social Hall, 958 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:45 p.m. Oct. 25. According to police, multiple complaints were received about a fight in the parking lot of the hall. The fight broke out after the baby shower and involved several groups of people in physical and verbal confrontations. Several troopers and officers from other police agencies responded to the scene.

An investigation by police found Daniel G. Torres, Jackeline Vasquez and Solangie Colon Martinez, all of Allentown, allegedly kicked and struck the teen and the woman from New York. Charges of harassment were filed against Torres, Vasquez and Colon Martinez.

Theft

Reported at Hess gas station, 4002 Chestnut St., Upper Milford Township, unknown actors broke two glass covers and took a fire extinguisher between 11 p.m. Oct. 1 and 5 a.m. Oct. 2.

Reported in the 2800 block of Sequoia Drive, Lower Macungie Township, several televisions and various other electronics were taken from a residence between 7 p.m. Oct. 17 and 12:30 a.m. Oct. 18.

Reported in the 1900 block of Riverbend Road, Lower Macungie Lowership, unknown actors took a wooden easel from the front yard of a residence between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 24. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Access device fraud

Reported by a resident in the 1900 block of Strathmore Drive, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors purchased merchandise through unauthorized use of debit card information, buying $122.90 in merchandise at a Rite Aid drugstore, 1199 Amboy Ave., Edison, N.J., Sept. 24 and at Giant Food Store #6336, Bethlehem, the same day. The investigation continues.

Fraud

Reported by a resident in the 5400 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, an unknown actor pretended to run a mystery shopper program and sent a resident a fake check made out for $1,300 and asked the resident to cash it and send $1,000 to the un-known actor. The check bounced after the Lower Macungie Township resident sent the money.

Theft from a motor vehicle

Reported in the 2900 block of Aronimink Place, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors entered vehicles and removed numerous items between 6 and 9:45 p.m. Oct. 11. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Found property

A bicycle was found next to a field along Gehman Road, west of Mack Trucks, 7000 Alburtis Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:36 p.m. Oct. 20. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
