Pumpkins are contest winners
Congratulations to the winners of the Sheckler Elementary School Pumpkin Contest
Winners include: scariest pumpkin, Xavier Razon; funniest pumpkin, Aidan Heil; prettiest pumpkin, Ava Baraket; most unusual pumpkin, Xavier Rosario; most colorful pumpkin, Amanda Tedesco, best animal themed pumpkin, Angelina Dries; best superhero themed pumpkin, Jack Brubaker; most creative pumpkin; Ethan Ambuster, best carved pumpkin, Mrs. Strauchs Class; best movie character themed pumpkin, Ella Taylor; and best classroom theme goes to Miss Kostura's class.
There were some amazing pumpkins this year. Great job to all who participated!
Students were also given an opportunity to guess the weight of a pumpkin that was placed in the cafeteria. Forty-four students guessed the correct weight of the pumpkin, 10 pounds. The winning students were given erasers and a lollipop and their names were put in a drawing for a grand prize. Fourth-grader Taylor Blose's name was selected for the prize, a bucket of candy.

Members of the Catasauqua High School Student Council recently visited Sheckler to assist students in third and fourth grades with constructing scarecrows that were on display at Catasauqua's Fest-O-Fall and North Catasauqua's Autumnfest.
A great big thank you goes to these students and to Ms. Rader for organizing this fun fall project for everyone to enjoy.

The Mega Moola event for students who sold 10 or more items in the Cherrydale fundraiser will be held Nov. 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Students must have an invite ticket to attend.

Report cards will be distributed to Sheckler students Nov. 7.

The 32nd annual Thanksgiving dinner, dress up day and food drive will take place at Sheckler Nov. 20.
Parents are invited to the school to enjoy lunch with their student. The Thanksgiving dinner is for students in first through fourth grade.
If you plan to attend, return your form and payment to your child's teacher by Nov. 14. Checks should be made payable to Catasauqua Cafeteria Fund. All Sheckler student payments for lunch will be deducted from their lunch accounts. Only adults and children who are not Sheckler students need to pre-pay.
Donations will be collected for The Catasauqua Food Bank during the food drive. Nonperishable items and canned goods may be sent in with students before or on the day of the dinner.
