Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2096 Independent Road, New Smithville, is hosting Friday Night at the Movies 7 p.m. Oct. 31.

Free movie and refreshments. "God's Not Dead" is about a college freshman and his atheist professor who asks the class to write a paper titled "God is Dead."

Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, is sponsoring a Pa. German worship service 2:30 p.m. Nov. 2. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Ethan Levengood from Lititz.

The church will host a name-brand basket bingo Nov. 9 at the Schnecksville Fire Company. Doors open at noon. Bingo begins 1:30 p.m. Children will need to have a ticket to attend with a parent.

A genealogy workshop is being offered 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Weisenberg Lowhill Historical Society, Werleys Corner, Holbens Valley Road. Bring a bag lunch, any questions and spend the day.

The quarterly meeting and banquet of the historical society will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Seipstown Grange Hall, 8501 Claussville Road, Fogelsville.

The speaker will be Pete "Doc" Peters, a Civil War re-enactor, who portrays a Civil War surgeon.

He has appeared on the History Channel and the Smithsonian Channel, in "Gettysburg," "Glory, Gods, and Generals," and "Lincoln."
