Slatington Public Library, 650 Main St., Slatington, thanks everyone who stopped and shopped at the book sale at both the apple and canal festivals .

The library board enjoyed making popcorn and cotton candy, and not having to bring too many books back to the library.

Congratulations to Fran Williams who won the "Sunbonnet Sue" quilt.

The returned books are now part of the $1 per bag sale. Books, puzzles, videos, audio books, anything that can be fit in a bag is $1.

Stop in the library and shop if you missed the sale at the canal.

The library takes donations of books, but not encyclopedias, National Geographic magazines or Reader's Digest condensed books.

Pathmark shoppers beware! If you signed up to donate to the library with your rewards card, you need to use your rewards card at the register.

They automatically give you the savings now, but we will not get credit unless they scan your card. Please take the time to pull out your card. Thanks.

Medicare Part D open enrollment ends Dec. 3. Volunteers from APRISE will be available to help Tuesdays each week during the enrollment period. Call the library to make an appointment.

Library hours are from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday; and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. The library is closed Thursdays and Sundays.
