The Whitehall-Coplay School District is looking for Zephyr Graduates of Distinction.
Dr. Barbara Chomik, director of curriculum and instruction, made the announcement at the Whitehall-Coplay School Board's meeting Oct. 13.
"To be nominated the graduate needs to be at least 10 years out," Chomik said.
The graduates of distinction recognizes Whitehall grads who have a marked achievement in academics, music, arts, civic or military service, community service or significant personal achievements, according to Chomik.
Nomination forms are available at the Whitehall Township Public Library, Coplay Public Library, the district website or by contacting Chomik. The nomination deadline is Jan. 9, 2015.
In other business at the school board meeting, the PTSA introduced its new treasurer, Shari Noctor.
Noctor introduced herself to the board and presented a flyer for a bingo that the PTSA is holding. The proceeds from the bingo will benefit the PTSA.
In other matters, the school board awarded the bids for its cyber/privacy protection insurance. The cost of the insurance is $10,892, which is the same as last year.
The board also approved a field trip request for the ski club. Whitehall High School teacher Michael Yadush will travel with the club to Mount Snow, Vt., Jan. 23-25, 2015 at no cost to the district.
