Whitehall-Coplay School District news
Whitehall cheering presents a Longaberger Basket, Coach and Vera Bradley bingo this Sunday, Oct. 26, at the American Club in Coplay.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and bingo starts at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at a discount or at the door.
The event will include door prizes, a Chinese auction and refreshments. For more information, email whscheering@ gmail.com.

Gockley Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A at the Lehigh Valley Mall will be held 5-7 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 24.
The school will receive 20 percent of the sales during this time. The funds will be put toward the next new piece of playground equipment.
Students brought home flyers with the required forms. You must bring the form to Chick-fil-A with your receipt for the school to receive the credit.

Gockley's Halloween parade will be Friday, Oct. 31. All kindergarten children should come to school wearing their costumes. The first graders are asked to bring their costumes and change into them after lunch.
Parents are asked that children have costumes that are simple and require minimal assistance. Costumes also should not depict violence.
The morning kindergarten children will begin their parade at 10 a.m. from the front of the school.
Parents are asked to stand along the grass.
The afternoon kindergarten and first graders will use the same procedure for the 1:25 p.m. parade.
If it rains, the parade will be held in the gym and the cafeteria.
For this event, parking is at the football stadium.

Whitehall-Coplay School District invites all parents to the Parent Nights series 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays at the high school.
The series runs through Nov. 19. Register at www.whitehallcoplay. org by following the link to STEP into Parenting programs.
The topic for Oct. 29 is "Communicating with Your Child."

The ESOL Department will be hosting its annual family night 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the middle school.
Family members can enjoy presentations made by the students and meet teachers Carmelina Subervi (high school), Jennifer Rosko (middle school), Marlena Stroup (Zephyr), Gina Perez (Steckel) and Hana Nanoah (Gockley).
Student work will be on display, along with plenty of snacks and prizes to be raffled off.

Zephyr Elementary School will celebrate a week of autumn antics Oct. 27-31.
Throughout the school will be many fun-filled activities for students and staff, including caramel apple dipping.

Zephyr Elementary Key Club's Fall Food Drive is under way. It began Oct. 14 and runs through Nov. 14.
Students and staff have begun collecting canned foods and other nonperishable food items. These items will help fill Thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate in the Whitehall community. Drop off boxes are located in the main foyer.
