Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have a basket party from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 24, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 25.

Tickets will be available at the door but may be purchased in advance at a discount.

To receive a free sheet of tickets, bring a grocery bag full of non-perishable items for the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

The kitchen will be open with a menu including homemade soups, sandwiches and baked goods.

Last year the congregation prepared more than 200 creative baskets and would like to do as well this time.

Proceeds support youth ministries of the church.

The Upper Lehigh Lions will host a basket social on Oct. 28, at the Schnecksville Fire Company.

Doors open 5:30 p.m. Drawing is 7 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

It's harvest season for apples, and the Northern Valley EMS Auxiliary, NOVA, will be baking dumplings for pick-up on Oct. 26 and 27.

Call Julie at 610-262-7749 to reserve homemade apple dumplings.

The NOVA kitchen crew will be busy with a soup, sandwich and bake sale Election Day, Nov. 4.

Stop in for lunch, even if this is not your polling place.

Schnecksville Fire Company volunteers will be cooking an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26.

Menu features homemade creamed dried beef plus a variety of breakfast foods and drinks.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, welcomes all children to Trunk-or-Treat 3-5 p.m. Oct. 25.

Wear a costume and pick up treats at each vehicle in the grove parking lot.

Children walk through the cemetery to Union Lutheran Church, which will also have decorated cars and costumed people giving out treats.

Both churches will have food for the hungry trick-or-treaters.

Tickets are still available for the Parkland Community Library's murder mystery dinner at Morgan's Restaurant 6 p.m. Nov. 12.

The play, "Now You See It, Now You Don't," invites the audience to help find the thief who stole a diamond from a museum's prized display.
