Mrs. Rich's class is best collector in Box Top contest

Sheckler Elementary School's fall Box Tops for Education contest has come to a close. Congratulations go out to the top collecting classrooms in each grade level: Mrs. Bolza's kindergarten class with a total of 753 collected, Mrs. Rich's first-grade class with 1,974, Mr. Conner's second-grade class with 734, Mrs. Burker's third-grade class with 1,276 and Mrs. Sanoroski's fourth-grade class with 1,042.

Way to go to all that helped turned trash into cash for Sheckler. Remember keep sending in those Box Tops with your student for their classroom for the next upcoming contest and submission and help their class come out on top.

Reminder, if your child is submitting a pumpkin for the contest at the school, all entries may be dropped of in the courtyard Oct. 27-29. Judging will take place Oct. 30 and all entries must be removed by the end of the school day on Oct. 31 Good luck to all participants.

The students of Sheckler will be marching their annual Halloween Parade on Oct. 31 as part of October's Fall Festivities. The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. Parents may watch the parade in the viewing areas along the route. Students will be coming out the doors by the office and march around the building, completing a loop around Sheckler and will the re-enter the building to go back to class.

Classroom parties for students will follow the parade. In viewing the parade, keep sidewalks clear for the students. Parents may park on 14th Street or in Sheckler's lower lot.

Remember, in choosing your child's costume, students are not permitted to dress in costumes that show injury, blood or pain and are not permitted to carry any weapons or fake weapons in the parade. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated with this matter.
