DUI

William Crothers, 29, of Bethel Park, Allegheny County, was taken into custody for driving under the influence after a traffic stop for several alleged traffic violations along Route 100 South, south of Interstate 78, 10:10 p.m. Sept. 15. Crothers allegedly was impaired at the time of the traffic stop.

Theft

Reported Oct. 5 by a woman, 49, of New Tripoli, unknown actors took an Apple iPhone 5 smartphone after the woman left the phone at a checkout counter at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township. The woman reported she left the phone on the counter 3:15 p.m. Oct. 4 and when she realized the phone was missing and went back to get the phone, it was gone. The loss was valued at $975. Theft of services

Reported by Vera Cruz Tavern, 3883 Main Road West, Upper Milford Township, unknown actors illegally dumped a Maytag brand washer, a white toilet, a white box spring and a white mattress in a Dumpster at the tavern, 1:45 a.m. Oct. 7. Criminal mischief

Chad William Corsino, 28, of Catasauqua, allegedly removed a plastic key cover from the National Penn Bank automatic teller machine located in the 5700 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 10:02 p.m. Oct. 5, causing damage.

Unknown actors damaged a sign for a haunted woods attraction posted at the intersection of Carls Hill Road and Geisinger Road, Upper Milford Township, between 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4 and 9 a.m. Oct. 5. The damage to the sign may have been done with a vehicle. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.

Retail theft

Reported by Verizon Wireless, 6379 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 7:54 p.m. Oct. 7, an actor attempted to steal 12 iPhone smarthphones and succeeded in taking four phones and fleeing the store. The thief is described as a black male in his 50s who fled the store in a maroon Jaguar with a Pennsylvania registration. Theft from vehicle

Reported in the 1500 block of Kennington Lane, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors entered an unlocked vehicle and removed various items overnight Oct. 10. Anyone wih information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438. Police advise residents in neighborhoods in Lower Macungie Township to make sure vehicles are locked, valuables are not in plain view and exterior lighting at a residence is left on at night to deter such incidents.

Reported in the 6600 block of Mine Drive, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors took two pairs of Ray Ban brand sunglasses, each pair valued at $200, from the center console of an unlocked vehicle between midnight and 10 a.m. Oct. 4.
