STUDENT OF THE WEEK Jessica Bross
Q: What grade are you in?
A: I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.
Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?
A: My favorite class is orchestra because I enjoy being able to take a period of every school day to just relax and express myself through music.
Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A: I have participated in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science state level science fair twice and have received a first place award both times. I have received the academic excellence award through my school. I am a member of National Honor Society as well as the German honor society.
Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A: I am a member of my school's orchestra. I am also a member of the chamber orchestra, a small group of advanced musicians. I am the treasurer of Interact Club, a club working to serve the community and affiliated with the Emmaus Rotary Club. I am a member of Habitat for Humanity as well. Outside of school, I work as a math tutor.
Q: What is your next goal after high school?
A: I want to go to college and hope to be accepted into a five-year physician assistant studies program.
Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A: My biggest challenge so far has definitely been balancing schoolwork with extracurricular activities.
Q: What do you want to be remembered for?
A: I want to be remembered for being honest, reliable and an all-around good friend.
Q: Who is in your family?
A: I live with my mother Nan, my stepfather Jay and my three dogs Ben, Jack and Zoey. I also have an older brother named Alex.
Q: Do you have someone you look up to?
A: I look up to both my mother Nan and my father Brian. They are both honest, respectful and extremely hard working.
Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?
A: Find something you love to do and never give up on it.
