To the Editor:
I just read Mark Reccek's Another View published Sept. 25, in the Northwestern Press titled "Show compassion toward the homeless."
I think the article is great. Mark has identified a lot of problems in this country and how we as a society view the homeless and he is exactly right.
If people would look at themselves, I firmly believe at least 80 percent of the people in this country could be homeless in three months should they hit some bad luck, such as losing their job, illness, bad investments, etc.
Not all homeless are dead beats as most people believe, and it drives me crazy when they have that opinion.
With that said, I believe we as a country can solve the homeless problem should we get together and do it.
