STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. What grade are you currently in?

A. I am a senior at Salisbury High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is chemistry because I enjoy learning how individual particles combine and react to form important materials.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I received the Rensselaer Medal for Math and Science. I am also a member of the High School Scholars Program at Lehigh University and Salisbury's National Honor Society.

Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?

A. I earned two black belts in martial arts since I began studying martial arts in 2002. As a student at Salisbury, I play varsity baseball, participate in the concert band and serve as the Class of 2015 treasurer. Outside of school, I volunteer as an altar server and act as a member of the parish advisory board at St. Josaphat's Church.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan to attend a four year university to study chemical engineering.

Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?

A. The toughest but most rewarding challenge I faced was training for my first degree black belt. Training required hours of physical and mental conditioning every week for several months. The support of my fellow classmates truly helped me during my training.

Q. What do you want to be remembered for?

A. I hope people remember me for honesty and integrity.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My family includes my dad, Mike, and my mom, Judy.

Q. Do you have someone you look up to?

A. I admire both of my parents because they work hard to provide me with as many opportunities as possible. They also provide endless support in my education and activities. We always spend time together having fun and laughing.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. The next few years of our lives will determine our futures. If you have faith in God and work hard, everything will work out in the end.
