Attempted child luring

Police are investigating reports of a child luring attempt that occurred in the Devonshire Park, in Salisbury Township's west end Sept. 27. Reports are a middle aged white male attempted to lure two young children into the wooded area near the parking lot by telling them some of their relatives were there. The children instead ran away and notified their parents immediately, who then called police. The suspect is described as a white male, short and thin, 40 to 50 years old with a long beard, wearing khaki pants and carrying a black backpack. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 610-797-1447 or 610-437-5252.

Retail theft

Leonis Curry, 31, no known address, was charged with retail theft and possession of an instrument of crime 3:10 p.m. Sept. 19 at Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St. Curry allegedly filled an empty Macy's bag with unpaid merchandise valued at $356 and left the store. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Everton Grant, 52, of Freeport, N.Y., was charged with retail theft 7:51 p.m. Sept. 19 at Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St. Grant allegedly removed a Ralph Lauren hooded sweatshirt valued at $98 from the store. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Anthony Homes, 40, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft and criminal mischief 11:54 a.m. Sept. 21 after allegedly removing clothes from Bon-Ton, 3300 Lehigh St. valued at $445 and damaging other items. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Assault

Luis Rivera-Vega, 42, of Allentown, was charged with simple assault and harassment, after an incident at Sheffield Square Apartments, 1705 S. Albert St. 11:35 p.m. Sept. 20. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Burglary

A resident in the 600 block of East Federal Street reported Sept. 20 a man said he was with the water company and needed to check equipment in the basement. While the resident escorted the man to the basement, the alleged worker was on the phone with the water company. The resident later realized the alleged worker was working with an accomplice who removed money and jewelry from an upstairs dresser, while the resident was in the basement.

Jarrod Heinrich, 22, of Allentown, was charged with six counts of burglary, criminal trespassing, conspiracy and receiving stolen property in regard to the recent Waldheim Park burglaries. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Property damage

While a car was being repaired at Denny's Service Center, 1112 E. Susquehanna St., a JVC radio was reported removed from the vehicle 9:31 a.m. Sept. 22.
