The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-Atlantic Chapter has presented two Emmy awards for "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" in the Children-Youth-Teen Program or Special category.
The awards were presented to Teri Haddad, Ed.D., Vice President of Education & Production at PBS39, Executive Producer; Scott Paul, Ph.D., Director-Producer, and Steve Whitcombe, Editor. Haddad and Whitcombe accepted the award Sept. 20 in Philadelphia.
"I am thrilled to be recognized in such an important category," said Haddad. "I truly believe in inspiring children at a young age and the awards give myself, Steve and Scott the satisfaction to know that our dedication to providing outstanding work does not go unnoticed."
It is the educational media production team's seventh consecutive Emmy award among 18 nominations since 2007.
"As part of PBS39's mission it is important to select leaders that are going to inspire and enrich the lives of our viewers and community members," said Tim Fallon, CEO of PBS39. "With the announcement of two Emmy awards in the Children-Youth-Teen Program or Special category, Teri proves to us again her commitment to making that happen. We are honored to have her as part of our team."
The "What's So Cool About Manufacturing?" series is an educational initiative, sponsored by Manufacturer's Resource Center, designed to promote interest in manufacturing careers among middle school students across the state.
