Homecoming game is Saturday

Central Catholic High School has a busy few weeks ahead as students settle into the new school year.

On Sept. 25, Central will hold its freshmen parent night, where all freshmen parents will have the opportunity to come to the school and meet their child's teachers.

Beginning 6 p.m., parents will follow their child's schedule and learn about who will be teaching their son or daughter and have the chance to learn more about the school and curriculum.

Parents of students in grades 10 through 12 will have this same opportunity 6 p.m. Oct. 2.

This weekend is Allentown Central Catholic's homecoming weekend. Allentown traditionally celebrates with an intense passion and spirit unique to the school. With the traditional pep rally and homecoming dance Sept. 26 to rally the students, the Central Catholic football team will take on Freedom High School 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at J. Birney Crum Stadium. A massive student turn out is expected, along with teachers and alumni, to cheer on the Vikings.

On Sept. 26, the pep rally will be a time for Central students to show their Viking spirit. Students will participate in dance competitions and relay races and will have the chance to pie Central Catholic's chaplain, Father Hoffa.

Later that evening, 7 to 10 p.m., the Homecoming dance, also held in Rockne Hall, is a chance for the student body to come together for the evening and enjoy the time with friends.
