In a special presentation, director Mary Ziegler presented a check to the district for $1,000. Ziegler received this grant from Wells Fargo Bank in recognition of her over 300 volunteer hours in the last year. Ziegler is one of four employees chosen in Pennsylvania and one of 167 employees recognized by Wells Fargo. Ziegler chose to donate her award to the district.

Salisbury High School Principal Heather Morningstar and Superintendent Michael Roth reported the Keystone results came out Sept. 16. Roth said they are currently unpacking the data and will release the data to the public next week.

Roth reported the Arts Academy Charter School's charter is up for a 5-year renewal. Roth said there are 18 items he would like the school board to review. Board member Sam DeFrank said he would like to see the demographics of students who are turned away from the charter school as Salisbury does not turn any student away.

The board also discussed only 75 percent of the charter school's teachers must be certified; Salisbury teachers are 100 percent certified.

Lastly, the charter schools are not required by the PDE to give Keystone tests as public schools are; charter schools administer PSSA tests.
