Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will be offering literary Trivia Night 7-8 p.m. Sept. 24.
Join the library staff for a fun night of literary trivia to celebrate National Library Card Month.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Spend an afternoon swapping knitting tips and tricks with the Knitting Circle 1:30-4 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the library.
Bring knitting materials and enthusiasm. Knitters of all ages and skill level are welcome to attend.
Join Lehigh Valley author and DeSales professor Dr. Katherine Ramsland for a talk on and book signing of her second book in the "Haunted Crime Series" 7-8 p.m. Oct. 2.
Books will be available for purchase.
Reservations are needed to attend both literary trivia night and Dr. Ramsland's talk.

The Busy Bees of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fogelsville, are taking orders for a hoagie sale Oct. 15. Orders need to be placed by Oct. 5.
There is a choice of either ham or Italian.

St. John's Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will be having a basket social 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4.
There will be themed baskets, vendors and lunch.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will be having a tea and quilt show with the tea at 1 p.m. on Sept. 20.
The quilt will be on display from 2:30-4 p.m.
Speaker for the tea will be Rexine Krause, who will discuss "An Herbal Delight-A Study of Popular Culinary Herbs."There will also be a raffle.
Tickets for the quilt display will be available for purchase at the door.

The Upper Macungie Township Police Department will be hosting a community police academy 10 a.m.-noon starting Oct. 4. The class will run every Saturday until Nov. 8.
Applications, available at uppermac.org, must be returned by Oct. 1.
Class is limited to 30 participants.
