Sheckler promotes good behavior

On Friday, Sept. 26, students will be attending the first Think First assembly of the year at Sheckler Elementary School.

This assembly is being held to introduce this year's anti-bullying program.

At the assembly, students will be joined by magician Dave Rojahn while they enjoy his program "Bully No More."

Sheckler uses a card system to remind students to Think First before acting out negative behavior and to choose positive behavior instead. The student starts the day with a green card that may be flipped to a light bulb, yellow or red card, based on the behavior they have throughout the day.

Students who keep positive behavior for the month are then invited to participate in a monthly reward that is held for those students. They are also acknowledged in two assemblies held during the year and given recognition for Thinking First success. The first reward day will be held in October for students that kept positive behavior for the Month of September.
