This friendly face is out every morning and afternoon to assist youngsters in crossing Devonshire Road at 33rd St. S.W. in front of the Western Salisbury Elementary School. This the the first year for Ray Talalaj as a crossing guard. A resident of the nearby Devonshire Park apartment complex, Talalaj is a former state trooper and retired as a field adjustor for Nationwide Insurance Co. His daughter lives in the Lehigh Valley, which prompted his move to the area two years ago.
