Alburtis held its 30th annual Quinna Schleicher 5K run/walk, Paws in the Park and Kids Fun Run recently.
The Kids Fun Run began at Alburtis Elementary School and ended at the school.
The Quinna Schleicher 5K Run/Walk and Paws in the Park ran simultaneously, starting from the school and ending by the Alburtis Community Center.
Following the race, the participants were treated to water and tables full of food, along with music by Wesley Works with lottery prizes and the awards ceremony presentations. Runners were invited to swim at the pool and to a post race party at Alburtis Tavern later in the evening.
Many volunteers from Alburtis helped make this event a success.
A complete list of winners can be found at Pretzel City Sports' website on the Internet.
The event was held in memory of Quinna Schleicher, a Camp Fire Girl and a promising athlete. After she graduated from high school, while driving home she was in a fatal automobile accident.
Trees were planted in her memory at Lock Ridge Park by the Camp Fire girls.
