The first two weeks of the Colonial League football season have posed more questions for Salisbury than they has provided answers.
There have been plenty of ups and downs for the Falcons thus far, and the main question that has surfaced is: What Salisbury team will show up moving forward?
Will it be the team that went toe-to-toe with Palisades last week for the entire first half? That same effort was seen in the second half against Saucon Valley in Week 1 when Salisbury erased a 33-7 third-quarter deficit to lead late.
Or, will it be the squad that committed three second-half turnovers against Palisades and was held to just 81 yards in the final 24 minutes?
Heading into Week 3 against Notre Dame (Green Pond), the Falcons are searching for something they've yet to produce this season: a complete game.
The Crusaders, like the Falcons, are 0-2 on the season thus far. Following their season-opening 32-6 loss to Northwestern, the Crusaders' offense was held to just 14 points in a 28-14 defeat to Catasauqua on Friday.
Unlike Palisades, who handed the ball off to running back Christian Gretzinger 28 times, the Crusaders will likely feature a running back-by-committee approach.
Seniors Trey Watson and Kyle Arrington, along with sophomore Mitch Daniel, all have recorded carries for the Crusaders at this point in the season.
At quarterback, senior Nick Brotzman and junior Nick Basenese both have lined up under center through two games as well.
Tight end Owen Loughlin, a 2013 Colonial League First-Team selection last year, was the team's lone First-Team All-Star and graduated. On the outside, senior Mike Peapos and sophomores Austin Kaulius and Tim Constantino will likely be targeted at the wide receiver position.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Notre Dame (Green Pond) High School.
