Chief reports on fire company

New Tripoli Fire Chief Peter Christ gave the fire company report to Lynn Township supervisors at their August meeting.

Since the June meeting, the volunteer firefighters answered 24 calls.

The fire company has received a 50/50 matching grant of $7,500 for the purchase of new hose for the fire trucks. A recent inspection resulted in the failure of some of the hoses. Pumps and the ladders were in good shape.

The fire department has received recognition for having 50 percent of the firefighters certified by either the National Pro-Board or IFSAC, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress.

This certification is good for three years.

Three subdivisions were on the agenda.

Greg Snyder was at the meeting to have his sewage planning module approved for his three-lot subdivision in New Tripoli. The board adopted a resolution to take care of this matter.

Susan Schall requested a one-year time extension on her feasibility plan for a two-lot subdivision on Allemaengel Road.

The time extension was granted. Nancy Smith for the same reason but for her two-lot final plan. The board granted Smith a one-year extension by a 2-1 vote. Supervisor Steve Feinour voted against the motion.
