The Women's Café group of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church will inaugurate a new Bible study series at Schnecks-ville Diner 8 a.m. Sept. 6.

While enjoying the fellowship of others, the women will have a Dutch-treat breakfast as they proceed with the new course, "Transforming Life and Faith."

This Bible study uses the Old and New Testaments, as well as issues in contemporary life, to explore how people grow and change individually as Christians and communally as a church.

The Women's Café will meet the first Saturday of each month at the restaurant.

The Upper Lehigh Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Schneck House, Route 873, Schnecksville.

Come to see the garden established on the property by Master Gardener Russ Similo.

Upper Lehigh Lions Club members are ready to begin their fall fundraiser – the food trailer at Parkland High School home football games.

The first event for this year is Sept. 5 when Parkland hosts Northampton.

St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, welcomes members back for a new Sunday School season at Rally Day 9 a.m. Sept. 7.

On that day, the church resumes the 10:15 a.m. weekly Sunday worship time.

St. John's is conducting a clothing drive through Sept. 14.

All collected items are forwarded to the Fashion Republic Co. After the donated clothes, shoes, accessories, toys, fabric and household articles are sorted, the organization ships the items to people in need around the world.

Nothing is shredded or cut into rags.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, begins a new season of education programs Sept. 7.

The Education Hour for all ages runs 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

On the first day after summer break, Director of Christian Education Kathy Bonsell will organize a scavenger hunt to acquaint children with Sunday School teachers and rooms.

At the 10:30 a.m. worship service, Pastor Thomas Thomas will offer a blessing of the backpacks before the young people depart for the opening session of children's church.
