Upper Macungie Township has partnered with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for a family fishing program 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 23 at the ponds at Apple Park, 1935 Packhouse Road, Fogelsville.

This free, four-hour educational program offers two hours of instruction and two hours of fishing.

Children must be at least 8 years old to participate. The fish and boat commission will provide all tackle and fishing equipment.

The township will be offering cardio tennisfrom 9-10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays Sept. 3 to Oct. 6 at Blue Barn Park, 5770 Snowy Orchid Road.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, will be closed Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 for the Labor Day weekend. The library will reopen 10 a.m. Sept. 2.

Come and "Chat with Rita" and practice your Italian during the "Conversation Café: Italian" 7-8:30 p.m. Aug. 27 and Sept. 4 at the library.

Registration is needed a week in advance to attend.
