Upper Lehigh Lions Club President Joe Mascari reports many people are benefiting from the recent festival at Neffs Church grove and the associated health fair.

"We should be proud that we can help to make their lives a bit better," Mascari said.

During the 2013 Lions season, the Upper Lehigh Club donated $40,080 to various causes.

This club takes the lead in District 14-K, Secretary Karlene Laub said.

She said the amount collected represents thousands of hours of volunteer work, which benefits the less fortunate and gives back to the community.

Recently, the Upper Lehigh Lions donated $4,000 to the Center for Vision Loss to apply toward vehicle replacement; $2,000 to Northern Lehigh Food Bank; $1,000 to Agape Food Bank; $800 to Leader Dog; and various amounts for awards and scholarships at Parkland High School as the term ended in June.
