To the Editor:
In the Aug. 13 edition of The Press, I read where East Penn School Board Chair Alan Earnshaw stated a fair compromise was reached with the teachers and in reading the Webster's New College Dictionary I find that "compromise" means "a settlement of differences in which each side makes concessions."
The board granted a 2.5 percent wage increase per year for four years; what did the school board receive? Salaries were not indicated but 2.5 percent of a lot is more than 20 percent of a little!
There's an old labor relations dictum; management has it and the union wants it! True again!
