SYA shed approved at Devonshire Park

The location of a storage shed to be used by the Salisbury Youth Association and the Hamilton Park Athletic Association in Devonshire Park has been approved.

The Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners, voted 4-0, with one commissioner absent, to approve the location. Commissioner Joanne Ackerman made the motion. Commissioner Vice President Debra Brinton seconded it.

Commissioners voted at the Aug. 14 township meeting on recommendation of the township Recreation Advisory Committee, which voted July 21 to approve the location, which was approved by Salisbury Township Department of Public Works Director John Andreas.

Frank Adamcik, recreation advisory committee chairman, said bases, supplies and mowing equipment would be stored in the 10- by 12-foot shed to be placed at the edge of the parking lot.

"You wouldn't need this if Salisbury Township had a dedicated summer parks person," Adamcik said, adding, "I guess you're short-handed."

The Salisbury Youth Association requested the shed.
