Theft from vehicle
A resident in the 900 block of Chris Lane reported 2:32 p.m. Aug. 1 an unknown actor went through two vehicles on the property and removed a PlayStation 3 controller and a bottle of Vicodin.
A resident in the 900 block of South Ott Street reported 6:01 a.m. Aug. 1 an unknown actor entered a vehicle on the property and removed a pair of prescription sunglasses and a temporary registration.
A resident in the 800 block of East Lexington Street reported 10 a.m. Aug. 6 an unknown actor entered an unlocked vehicle and removed an iPod valued at $150 and a Garmin GPS valued at $200.
A realtor showing a property in the 1100 block of Bell Avenue 3:26 p.m. Aug. 12 had her wallet removed from her purse in her vehicle. In addition, the prospective buyer's vehicle was also entered and a Garmin GPS, three charging cords and $40 were removed.
Driving under the influence
Amanda Sanchez, 25, of Allentown, was charged with allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance after being found in a vehicle in the 300 block of East Rock Road 9:18 a.m. Aug. 5. She was taken to the DUI center for processing.
Edgardo Robles, 30, of Allentown was charged with allegedly driving under the influence 9:35 p.m. Aug. 7 after police observed his vehicle in the 1800 block of East Susquehanna Street. The vehicle was running with the lights on and Robles was under the vehicle allegedly fixing the muffler. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.
Derek Boksan, 31, of Bethlehem, was charged with allegedly driving under the influence following a crash in the 1700 block of Broadway 1:58 a.m. Aug. 13.
Criminal mischief
A resident of White Oak Lane reported 6:40 p.m. an unknown person vandalized plants and broke pots on her front lawn and left two notes. The first said "shut your [expletive] dogs up;" the second said "if not, I'm calling animal control." The resident said there has been no trouble with neighbors.
A resident in the 2300 block of East Rock Road called police 9:08 p.m. Aug. 11 to report neighbors have been removing her flowers. Police are investigating.
The front door of a mailbox was reported broken in the 1700 block of Lehigh Avenue 11:17 a.m. Aug. 13.
A mailbox was reported damaged and ripped off its post in the 1700 block of Lehigh Avenue 6:22 a.m. Aug. 13.
A door was reported ripped from a mailbox in the 1700 block of Lehigh Avenue 10:05 a.m. Aug. 13.
Retail theft
Brian Roderick, 44, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft, possession of an instrument of crime and criminal mischief after police found wire cutters and three pairs of jeans with tags removed from Stein Mart, 3300 Lehigh St. 2 p.m. Aug. 6 in his backpack. The jeans were damaged and valued at $120.
Theft
A resident at Woodland Terrace at the Oaks, 1263 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., reported 9:17 p.m. Aug. 7 sometime during the week, an unknown actor took her deceased husband's wedding band valued at $500.
An employee at Lehigh Valley Helath Network - Cedar Crest reported a purse containing cash and credit cards missing from a locker 9:24 p.m. Aug. 7.
Assault
Timothy Varble, 40, no known address, was charged with simple assault and harassment after an argument at a home in the 300 block of East Emmaus Avenue 2:32 a.m. Aug. 9. Varble allegedly struck the victim, threw her to the floor, detained her for one hour, took the victim's vehicle and fled.
Attempted burglary
A resident in the 800 block of Lynnwood Street reported 8:43 a.m. Aug. 9 sometime overnight an unknown actor attempted to enter the home via a back screen door which was pulled out and a chair was moved toward the door.
A resident in the 900 block of East Lexington Street reported 1:05 a.m. Aug. 12 hearing a door handle being jiggled, turned on the light, spooked the intruder who then got into a car and drove away. Police followed the vehicle which crashed and the intruder ran from the site.
Disorderly conduct
Jim Hinkle, 38, of Whitehall, was charged with disorderly conduct 12:33 p.m. Aug. 11 after an incident in the 1700 block of Broadway.
Fraud
Salisbury police are reminding residents about scams affecting township residents. A resident in the 2400 block of Belmont Avenue met a woman on social media from Nigeria who needed money for a hotel room. She sent him a check which he deposited and between July 31 and Aug. 2, he made four payments totalling $680 through Moneygram and it was later determined the check she sent was a fraud.
Forgery/counterfeiting
David Smith-Bey-Young, 22, of Quakertown, was charged with forgery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after allegedly taking and cashing a personal check from Scott Mazda Volvo, 3209 Lehigh St.
