Students named to dean's list
Two local students were among the 491 named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester. The students are: Kristen Odor, of Alburtis, and David Trine, of Macungie.
A student must attend the university full-time and attain at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester to be named to the Dean's list.
WESTMINSTER COLLEGE
Student namedto dean's list
Jacqueline Decker, of Emmaus, was named to the dean's list for spring 2014. Decker, a junior sociology major, is the daughter of Jack and Lisa Decker and a graduate of Emmaus High School.
The dean's list recognizes students who attain a grade point average of at least 3.6 out of a possible 4.0.
COLLEGE OF WILLIAM AND MARY
Student named to dean's list
Hwa In Han, of Macungie, was recently named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.
In order to achieve dean's list status, a full-time degree seeking undergraduate student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 3.6 grade point average during the semester.

Student earns advanced degree
Scott M. Emrich received a Master's of Science in biotechnology in recent ceremonies. Emrich is the son of Daniel and Susan Emrich of Wescosville.

Tate Klidonas, of Emmaus, has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.

ROCHESTER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
Students named to dean's list
The following local residents were named to the dean's list for spring 2013-2014 semester at Rochester Institute of Technology: Lauren Bruns, of Wescoville, who is in the industrial design program in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences and Michael Lynch, of Macungie, who is in the computing security program in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
Undergraduate students are eligible for the dean's list if their quarterly GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete," "D" or "F" and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Area student receives degree
Randi Gold, of Macungie, is one of 1,687 students who earned degrees and certificates of advanced study. Gold received a certificate of advanced study.

ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE
Student namedto honor society
Samantha Kick, of Emmaus, who majors in English professional writing, recently was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, the first-year national honor society.
To be inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, a student must be enrolled fulltime in a baccalaureate program and maintain a 3.5 grade point average during their first term. In addition, the student must be in the top 20 percent of his or her class. Students meeting these requirements may then be invited to join the honor society. Students are members for life and have access to a variety of educational opportunities and scholarships.
UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH BRADFORD
Student named
to dean's list
Nikita Mirpuri, of Macungie, is among the students named to the dean's list for the spring term. Mirpuri a senior biology major.
Dean's list status is earned by full-time students who have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Student named to dean's list
Catherine Carr, of Alburtis, was named to the spring 2014 dean's list.
To be eligible, students must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher and be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours.

Several area students were among those to receive degrees in recent commencement ceremonies. They are: Jordan Angel, of Emmaus, who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School; Elizabeth Smulian, of Emmaus, who earned a Master of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health.

Nicole Klein, of Emmaus, recently was named a member of Phi Sigma Biological Sciences Honor Society.
Klein, a daughter of Crystal Klein and Robert Klein, is a graduate of Emmaus High School.

Two area students were among those who received degrees in ceremonies at Lyndon State College. Michael Borowski, of Allentown, earned a Bachelor of Science in small business management, Patrick Newill, of Macungie, earned a Bachelor of Science in mountain recreation management with a concentration in adventure leadership.
