Girl Scouts in the Northwestern Lehigh area are hosting a Bridge to Daisies program for kindergarten and first-grade girls. Attend from 6:30-7:30 p.m. either Aug. 11 or 13 at Ziegels Church, Breinigsville.

There will be a genealogy workshop 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Weisenberg Lowhill Historical Society, Werleys Corner, Holben Valley Road, Weisenberg Township.

The quarterly meeting of the historical society will be Aug. 26 at the home of Gene Allen.

A covered dish meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. This will be followed by a tour of Allen's barn studio, which is home to his paintings of local properties. Members and non-members are invited to attend.

The annual Schpotyaahr Fescht will take place at the historical society's headquarters at Werleys Corner noon-6 p.m. Sept. 13 and 14.

The theme this year is "Education of Yesteryear," which will focus on students who attended one-room schoolhouses in Weisenberg and Lowhill townships.

Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Company is having a car wash at the fire station 8 a.m.-noon Aug. 16.

Donations will be accepted.

Place orders for meat pies from Zook's in Ronks, until Aug. 19. Pickup at the station 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 11.

Call Pat at 610-285-2488 to order 9-inch or 6-inch chicken, sausage,or beef pies. Proceeds benefit the fire company.

Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2096 Independent Road, New Smithville, will host a Kids Fun Zone 6-9 p.m. Aug. 16 for kids ages 5 through 13.

This is a free event where they will receive dinner and have fun, fellowship, play games, do crafts, and much more.
