Douglas, H. Brown, PE, has joined the Municipal Engineering Department of Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. (BIA), a multi-discipline engineering firm headquartered in Allentown.

Andrea Martin, EIT, has also joined BIA's municipal department. Her responsibilities include assisting in the planning, analysis and design of sanitary sewer collection systems and water distribution systems.

Brown, proprietor of Brown Consulting LLC for 10 years, which served as township engineer of Douglas and New Hanover townships, previously worked for Motley Engineering, Mast Engineering, Boucher and James Engineering and Meixner Engineers and Surveyors.

Brown received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and is licensed to practice engineering in Indiana and Maryland as well as Pennsylvania. He is a resident of Lower Macungie Township.

Martin received a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Wilkes University in 2001. She worked for the Lehigh Valley office of SSM Group for 13 years before joining BIA. Shen is a resident of Nazareth.

BIA's services include: municipal engineering; code services; civil, structural, forensic, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering; landscape design; construction inspection; survey services; environmental services; and construction services.

The company, founded by Barry E. Isett, PE, PLS in 1977, has offices in Hazleton and Forty Fort and a branch in Phillipsburg, NJ. BIA is a privately held firm owned jointly by Isett, a consortium of about 35 shareholder-associates, and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
