Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave, South Whitehall, will be offering summer story time with Carly Simon 10-10:45 a.m. July 24 at Schnecksville Elementary School, 1:30-2:15 p.m. on July 29 at Ironton Elementary; and 10-10:45 a.m. at Fogelsville Elementary, and 1:30-2:15 p.m. at Jaindl, both on Aug. 6.
There will be stories and a craft for kids and their families.
Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs will be at the library 6:30-7:30 p.m. on July 28.
Youngsters will practice reading aloud to these patient and gentle pups.
Mad Science of the Lehigh Valley will amaze kids ages 6 to 12 with acids and bases 11 a.m.-noon July 29 at the Upper Macungie Township Community Center, 150 Independent Road, Brein-igsville.
Jedi Training Camp with Miss Alison for young Padawans entering kindergarten to fifth grade will be 10-11 a.m. and Mad Science of the Lehigh Valley amazes with Playing with Polymers for kids ages 6 to 12 will be 11 a.m.-noon, both on July 31, at North Whitehall Township Building, 3526 Levans Road, Coplay.
Storytelling basics and games with Karen Maurer for kids in third to fifth grade will be 10-11 a.m. Aug. 5 at the Upper Macungie Township Community Center, 150 independent Road, Brein-igsville.
Learn how to tell a good story through fun and games.
Registration is needed to attend the Mad Science of the Lehigh Valley events, the Jedi training camp and storytelling bascis and games.

Friends of the Parkland Community Library's 24th annual used book sale will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 16 at Asbury Methodist Church, 1513 Springhouse Road, Allentown.
Donations of books, games and puzzles in good condition will be accepted 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 11-13 and 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 14 at the church.
They will not accept encyclopedias, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, older computer books (copyright before 2012), magazines or any book not in good condition.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breiningsville, will be having a blood drive to help Carrie Dwyer, recently diagnosed with acute leukemia, 2-7 p.m. July 28 in the church parking lot.
