SALISBURY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Salisbury Township residents have been advised incorrect water bills were mailed to residents by the township administration.

Residents should have received new bills as of July 10.

Salisbury Township Manager Randy Soriano made the announcement at the July 10 board of commissioners meeting.

Posted on the home page of the township website, as of July 8, was the following:

Important Notice To Township Residents With Water Service:

"If you have received a bill for water service from Salisbury Township, please be advised that due to an error with your consumption amount, the bills calculated incorrectly.

"Please disregard the original bill as a new bill will be mailed immediately.

"This will not impact any amounts billed for sewer or refuse services, only those who are billed for water service."

Said Salisbury Township Assistant Manager-Director of Finance Cathy Bonaskiewich at the township meeting, "We are seeking reimbursement from the software company. It was an issue with the software."

"Somehow, it [the software] computed the wrong bill. It doubled the amount," Soriano said.

The billing error was discovered hours after the bills were mailed, according to Soriano.

"Some residents didn't read the website," Soriano noted. "We're accommodating them.

"We apologize for the inconvenience," Soriano said.
