LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Week one at Camp Cementon kicks off

The first week of Camp Whitehall was full of smiles, laughs and fun.

The theme for week one of Camp Cementon was "America" because the Fourth of July was on Friday. Because of the holiday, our week ended on Thursday, but we made sure to squeeze a whole week of fun into four days.

Everyone came Monday morning full of energy and excited for the summer at Camp Cementon. All the campers and counselors were happy to see tons of familiar faces along with lots of new faces.

We spent all week playing games, making crafts and swimming. Fan-favorite games like jump the river, dodge ball and fastest "it" in the west made their return to Cementon Park. Thankfully, the rain held off for us in the afternoons and we were able to go swimming at the pool every day. All of the campers seem to enjoy going to the pool (and eating lunch) the most.

On Wednesday, Camp Cementon traveled across the bridge to Hampton Lanes. Everyone got to bowl a few games and spend their allowances in the arcade. Tyler T. was the first camper to reach 100 points. The counselors didn't even score that much. Corey N. also did really well with at least five strikes and spares. All of the campers were excellent bowlers.

Following the theme of "America," the campers made patriotic windsocks for their craft on Tuesday. The projects were personalized with glitter glue, beads and markers. The campers were excited to take them home and show off their craft to their families.

On Thursday, everyone dressed in red, white and blue in an early celebration of the Fourth of July. Rebecca S. went all out and looked awesome with red, white and blue tinsel in her hair.

After just one week we can already tell everyone at Camp Whitehall is going to have a great summer. On Thursday, Kaitlynn W. and Jackson M. were announced the campers of the week for all of their awesome behavior.

Week one was a huge success and everyone is looking forward to more fun-filled days to come at Camp Cementon!
